What is Proyecto Sinergia?Child health as familiar and educational values

SINERGIA is an ambitious project designed to implement and evaluate tailored interventions oriented towards health promotion and disease prevention for children and their families.
The initial phase of the project has two main objectives:
•    to design a tool for the assessment of children’s health needs and related factors in an accurate and easy manner
•    to use this tool to actually identify children’s needs and lifestyle in Navarra (Spain).
Families with children below five years old will be invited to take part in the project. An Exploratory Mixed Methods design, integrating both quantitative and qualitative approaches, will be used.
Child health as familiar and educational valuesFocus groups and semi-structured interviews will be conducted in order to gather information from parents, health professionals and professionals working in schools and nursery schools. Based on the information obtained during the preliminary exploratory phase, a questionnaire will be designed and validated. This questionnaire will then be used to gain a comprehensive view of the factors influencing health and lifestyle of children and families from parents’ perspective, allowing future health promotion interventions.
